Our Projects and Facilities –
Geothermal Energy That Delivers
Geoprime from München realizes innovative geothermal systems across Germany – from planning to operation. Our projects guarantee supply security, carbon-free energy, and technical excellence. Discover how we actively shape the energy future through geothermal solutions in Upper Bavaria, Taufkirchen, and beyond.
Geothermal Energy Taufkirchen – In Operation
The geothermal power plant in Taufkirchen near Munich is a pioneer in renewable energy for the Bavarian region. Since its commissioning, it has been delivering environmentally friendly district heating to households and businesses in the area. By harnessing deep thermal water layers, the plant generates base-load capable energy entirely independent of weather conditions and fossil fuels.
With its continuous supply of low-carbon energy, Taufkirchen makes an active contribution to the energy transition – sustainable, efficient, and future-oriented.
Geothermal Energy Palling
Geoprime is developing a geothermal heating plant in Palling, Upper Bavaria.
The plant will supply the municipality of Palling with thermal energy and feed additional geothermal heat into the planned interregional heating network.
To ensure a reliable and base-load capable energy supply, up to three production wells and three reinjection wells are planned. These wells will reach depths of 4,700 to 5,200 meters, targeting deep thermal water reservoirs in the Upper Jurassic carbonate formations with temperatures around 122 °C and flow rates exceeding 150 liters per second per well.
Preparations for the drilling site are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025. The heating plant is expected to go into operation by the end of 2027. From then on, Palling and surrounding communities will be supplied with geothermal heat.
